Cole Range and the rest are the most torturous, and "man making" places I've ever had the beautiful displeasure of knowing. This is the official webpage of the 238th RTI. If the reasons you listed are your primary motivation, you might want to do some soul searching. The most badass Rangers I ever had the honor of serving alongside were also smart, humble, had a big heart, and would rather take a hundred wounds than see their brothers, or their unit/mission, fail. Infantry, with Jump School option, can get you the closest to a spot in RASP.īTW.being a little crazy, enjoying the things you mentioned, doesn't mean shit for the Battalion, though parts of it MIGHT help. The tab makes you Ranger "qualified", the scroll means you function as a Ranger (obviously depending on your MOS), and are assigned/selected for service in the Ranger Battalion. Would/could I deploy in combat deployments?Ĭould I apply to test for Expert Infantry badge?Ĭan I volunteer to go to other Army Schools?(sniper, advanced infantry*, learn to drive strykers, ect) ![]() Will I just be an Admin that is required to run 5 miles in sub 40min? Just wanted to know what does a 42A actually do in Regiment. People that know me personally call me crazy bc I say the Rangers is going to feel like the one place I belong.(smoke sessions, mind fuck games, having to prove myself, ect) I love that stuff. So I just wanted to know if im just going to sit on my butt 24/7. Even another recruiter from the mountain division butted in and told me more stuff.īut it’s their job to recruit. He explained that 42As is a great job and does have its perks. He told what it was and told me it’s not what I want want. Out of his few year on recruiting duty, he never saw 42A with opt40. When he saw 42A with opt40 we literally flipped and called others to see what he was seeing. My recruiter knows I want Infantry but didn’t want to send me as a basic infantryman. Only a gasoline tech, artillery, and human resource. They are proven leaders, willing to accept challenges, make important decisions and take on great responsibility. ![]() There were no Infantry contracts (11x) with opt40 available, Commissioned officers in all of the National Guards career fields hold positions of tremendous authority. I first enlisted as an 11C, went through all of OSUT, hated it, had some mental health issues, and a year after OSUT reclassed to 42A. ![]()
